Two clues, two answers, one pair of squares — and nothing tells you which goes where.
A daily crossword where every card carries two answers.
A card reads “Reasons things happen / Sounds bouncing off canyon walls” — that’s CAUSES and ECHOES, six letters each. Both belong to that card’s two slots, but nothing tells you which answer goes where. That’s the puzzle.
Now and then one clue covers both answers at once — “Plaything” for TOP and TOY. Those are the good days.
Type your guesses — nothing is checked while you work, so guess freely. Where words cross, their letters must match. Only one arrangement makes every crossing agree.
Tap ⇄ to switch a pair between its two slots without retyping.
All correct — you win. Any mistake costs one of your four lamps: correct entries flash green, wrong ones flash red and stay underlined until you fix them. Lose all four lamps and the puzzle is lost.
Stuck? 💡 Chisel: reveals one letter, costs a lamp. 📖 Almanac: fills in one pair of your choice, free — but the day counts as assisted.
Win on your first press, no help: ✦ Flawless.
